A little bit of trivia for the day. Salvador Dali would have to be one of my favourite artist, his flamboyancy and the way his brain worked to create his works appeal to me. Born May 11th 1904, died on January 23rd 1989, a Taurus just like my self. Dali a draftsman first, produce this painting The Persistence Of Dreaming in 1931' As Dawn Ades wrote, "The soft watches are an unconscious symbol of the relativity of space and time, a Surrealist meditation on the collapse of our notions of a fixed cosmic order". [3] This interpretation suggests that Dalà was incorporating an understanding of the world introduced by Albert Einstein 's Special Theory of Relativity . Asked by Ilya Prigogine whether this was in fact the case, Dalà replied that the soft watches were not inspired by the theory of relativity, but by the surrealist perception of a Camembert cheese melting in the sun It is possible to recognize a human figure in the midd...

Hi bloggers, If you are ever looking for a chocolate fix while working go get a stash of yummy chocolate at the Chocolatiers in Healsville on the corner of Old Healsville Rd and Melton hwy. My daughter and l went there yesterday and had a yummy lunch and sat out on the balcony over looking nature in its finest. We had a pumpkin, spinach and feta cheese pizza, topped off with a hot chocolate drink, served with a creamy pure chocolate in a shot glass, divine. So of cause no art was done yesterday, will have to get my bum into gear or it will be the 25th before l know it.

Hi fellow Bloggers l am so sorry l have not written anything, but have had a few health and emotional issues and probable will again. l am sitting in my studio next to the window listen to the birds and the traffic with a cool breeze blowing on me. l very much enjoy the simple things in life. l am thinking very deeply about a video l just watched. It was a speaker by the name of Anita Moorjani and it was called 'Dying To Be Me', it was truly inspiring and made you think about are we true to our selves, or are we just pretending to be someone else. l am going through a life change trying to heal my mind and body so this is part of the reason l have not been blogging. Have taken a few photos, not been painting much, but l have painted some for Christmas, still trying to get my head around an idea which was in my earlier blogs but that may change. here are a few of my shots hope you like them. There are a few more of these shots, 'The Posers Travels' As the moon...

Hi Bloggers, Well have been painting and researching and of cause we had mothers day, Happy Mums Day to all. l think l spoke the other day that I start with a subject then l may change my mind, while painting, exploring, and evolving. The first subject may come to an end and so you have to explore other avenues so you can keep extending on your idea. The magic happens when your mind starts flooding with ideas and solutions. On Saturday night l realized that the subject was not unfolding to my liking. So sat down with a cup of tea and started going through everything l had written about my life and growing up. Finally the penny dropped and bingo a subject was created and my mind started flooding with ideas. It turned into a very late night as l kept writing and researching. l love it when this happens, its exciting and exhilarating. You will get to see snippets of what l am doing, but l can't show...

Hi Bloggers my number 3 painting is coming along slowly, but as l get layers down it gets faster. This one is from a great memory of my Childhood when l lived in East Brighton, l would have been 9 years old, 1963. We had footpaths and our street had a hill so l asked Dad to build us one. My brother and l would Billy Cart down that hill all weekend but l was the one that had much more interest in it as he was only 6 years old. Like any thing l do l enjoy doing research on a subject, l am about to paint. In Australia the first noted Billy cart was in 1880. The word Billy cart comes from The English word Billy Goat Cart. and as the name suggests Billy Goats pulled the cart. When l am working towards an Exhibition l start by doing small painting, like l am doing right now. Its a form of thinking out loud and visualizing but its not necessarily going to be the end product. As you work you come up with ideas and those ideas may ...

Hi Bloggers, Yesterday posted to new paintings and said l was starting a new which l will be doing some more today. Got a little side tracked which is not unusual for me, l think its part of an artist to avoid the canvas when trying to problem solve. l regularly get emails on photography comps and decided to enter 2 last night, So l thought l would give you a taste One theme for this comp is 'TIME'

Well, here is the first painting l have done in my new studio. This represents my school and church where l first started school. This church l love, but the black door represents the dark secrets that went on behind closed doors in the catholic church. This next painting represents my love of the Murry River. Have started my 3rd so stay tuned. Cheers Blogger

Hi Bloggers hope you are having a great Saturday, l am very excited as last night started painting. As you know l am an abstract expressionist painter and that is where my passion lies. So l am going with a theme of memories and things that relate to my life so far, as l am 59 in 2 days there are a few events that have stuck in my head or have touched my heart one way or another. to give you a sneak peak. l started school life at a catholic school and the church that was right near the primary school and it was beautiful. It is a Basilica, Our Lady of Victory. It's funny but l was looking up the church on the internet and found that they are having their centenary this year so that was an omen l feel. Back to the painting , it represents the church and the religion that l started my life in, and also the controversy of the catholic religion, and what goes on behind closed doors. l will take a photo but its a bit wet and as l am paint...

Hi bloggers, Have not been with you of late, as l have been busy shifting into a new apartment, my forever home. So l have been very calm and slow in setting up the home and studio. Its a bit small but thats ok as l have unload a heap of stuff. Now that my studio is up and running l have started painting . My mind is at peace and l am entering into my space where l can delve down deep into my heart, mind and soul and start the creative juices flowing. It has been incredibly frustrating hence my blogger heading, and if you are an artist of any genre you will know exactly what l am talking about. It is almost impossible to paint when you have a mountain of crap going on in your life. It blocks all the creative energy flowing through your body. So bloggers have things to do today one is put a base coat on my canvases so will talk tomorrow have a great day and be calm

I pinched this photo from the net when l look at it, it is me and many other artist. l empathize with this gentleman as l know his frustration when you don't have a problem with the painting, the problem lies in what will l paint next. If you have out side influences this makes it worse because it then become annoyingly confusing. and almost intrusive in you thoughts and ideas. This is where l am at. l thought moving to the beach would be great but just as l moved l got told that l may have a apartment through community housing and all thou it is fantastic. it has been intrusive to my plans to paint. So the other day, l said to myself "look at it as a holiday at the beach and in a month you are going home". so l did that and now l will show you my first painting. l here you say hooray for that, l know l am saying exactly the same thing. l have done 2 actually but the second one, not happy Jan. This is called 'Under the Sea. When l w...

Hi to all The first major Exhibition was when I completed my Diploma of Visual arts at Swinburne University. The hardest thing l found in the whole process was coming up with a theme. Eventually I started with jelly fish then it moved from there to sea creatures. Finally then I knew what direction I was heading in, what would happen if there was a hiccup in evolution and we humans crossed with sea creatures. Once I had the theme the rest followed, we each had to do 4 paintings in acrylic and 4 drawings in soft pastel which I completed along with a 9 ft long drawing. Believe me l had no finger tips left by the time I finalized those drawing. Have a great day
What is Art?

What is art? Art is making a mark either with paint, pencils, charcoal, mixed media, there are no rules. What makes good art? l think art is in the eye of the beholder, there is no good art nor is there bad art it is what you like as an individual. How ever l like my art to have a bit of depth and colour but its not all ways that simple, as l like very minimal art as well. So you see there is no right or wrong answer here, l like what l like at the time. Even my mood dictates what l like on any given day. My art changes with my mood , my subject, and my thoughts. How l approach my theme or subject, will change if my mind is wandering on that day it will change again, this is why we artists say we put our heart and soul to paper. Some times we have major problems letting go of our art, we keep hanging on to some, its like a soul mate, a spiritual thing, we are connected. So some we sell, some we paint over, and some stay fo...

Hi, To all you creative People, and to the ones that like to look at creative and artistic endeavours of our world. l am back as promised with my new project. After going through page after page of books with no idea that was ticking my fancy. l stopped to have dinner and while l was munching on my food the brainstorm came. Years ago when l did my Diploma in Visual Art my graduation was on a cross of human and sea creatures / evolution, and what we would have looked like if things had gone wrong. In the series of paintings and drawing was Jelly fish and as l was not the greatest painter back then, l decided to have another shot. This time as l have learned and grown l know l can do a much better job of it. Beside what better subject could l have chosen with the sea one street away. At night with my window opened l can hear the waves and some times smell and taste the salt air. l better get off this computer now as l need to eat a...
