Hi everyone, it has been a while since I introduced a female artist. As you know I always try to support female artist mainly because in early times they were not supported it was a man's domain. I  have been painting, I have completed one for my bedroom and I am very happy with it. Just starting another one now not sure which way this is going yet. Anyhow back to business, The female artist today is Dorrit Black, 23/12/1891 - 13/09/1951. Dorrit was born in Burnside Adelaide South Australia. Dorrit's father was Alfred Barham Black and her mum was Jesse Howard Clark and amateur artist, Jesse's father was John Howard Clark. John Clark was the editor of the South Australian Register.  She attended the South Australian School of Arts and Crafts in about 1909, working in watercolours, and then attended Jullian Ashton's  Sydney Art School in 1915, concentrating on working in oils. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorrit_Black Dorrit Black Born Dorothea Foster Bla
