This Image l painted a little while ago. My youngest daughter loves cats so when she saw it, it was hers. It now is framed and sits up on her wall along with a few other pieces of my work.

Today we are looking at Elizabeth Eaton Burton (1869–1937) was an American artist and designer whose work typified the Arts and Crafts style in southern California . Elizabeth was born in Paris, France, in 1869, to Charles Frederick Eaton and Helen Justice Mitchell. Her father was an artist and designer who worked in such media as metal, glass, and leather. He taught her drawing and the rudiments of other media, which turned out to be almost the only art training she ever received. She attended boarding school in England and Germany in 1885–86. Eva Hesse  (January 11, 1936 – May 29, 1970), was a Jewish German-born American sculptor, known for her pioneering work in materials such as  latex ,  fiberglass , and  plastics . She is one of the artists who ushered in the  postminimal  art movement in the 1960s When Hesse was two years old in December 1938, her parents, hoping to flee from  Nazi Germany , sent Hesse and her older sister, Helen Hesse Charash, to the Netherlands via  Kindertransport . [3]  After almost six months of separation, the reunited family moved to England and then, in 1939, emigrated to New York City, [4]  where they settled into  Manhattan 's  Washington Heights . [5] [6]  In 1944, Hesse's parents separated; her father remarried in 1945 and her mother committed suicide in 1946. [6]  In 1962, she met and married sculptor Tom Doyle; they divorced in 1966. Bianca Beetson was born in  Roma ,  Western Queensland  in 1973. She is an  Indigenous Australian  of the  Kabi Kabi  nation of the  Sunshine Coast  in  South East Queensland . She studied and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts at the  Queensland University of Technology  from 1993 to 1995. She completed her Honours in 1998 and is currently undertaking a Doctorate of visual arts at  Griffith University . [1] She established herself as an artist for contemporary Australian aboriginal art and lives and works in  Brisbane .
