Afshin Pirhashemi Born in 1974 in Urmia, Afshin Pirhashemi now lives and works in Tehran.

I find Afshin's work absolutely striking, his artwork talks to you, it refreshing and different.

Pirhashemi studied at the Rome Art Academy and finished his art education at Iran’s Azad University. his artworks are kept in public and some private art collectors through the Middle East and Europe. Pirhashemi and he have received awards from the 2003 Tehran 6th International Art Biennial, and the 2004 Beijing Art Biennial Award. 

Solo exhibitions include Ayyam Gallery DIFC, Dubai (2017); Ayyam Gallery, London (2014); Ayyam Gallery, Dubai (2015, 2013); Homa art Gallery, Tehran (2009); Seyhoun Art Gallery, Tehran (2005); and Barg Gallery, Tehran (2005). Group exhibitions include In & Out, Milan (2009); Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Tehran (2006); Museum of Contemporary Art, Tehran (2004, 2003). 

Afshin Pirhashemi examines the complexities of life in modern-day Iran through photorealist portraits that often bleed at their edges into expressionist compositions, becoming dramatic tableaux. Pirhashemi is fascinated by the role of women in contemporary Iranian society and their relationships to the world around them. Tapping into the psychosocial dimensions of contemporary Iran, Pirhashemi explores manifestations of power as they appear or are negotiated through gendered bodies and spaces.

Robert Freeman ( photographer ) Robert Freeman (5 December 1936 – 6 or 7 November 2019) was an English  photographer,  and graphics designer, best known for his work with The  Beatles. Today's  artist Melinda Jane Bordelon  (March 6, 1949 – November 18, 1995) was an American  painter  and  illustrator  whose professional work adorns  magazine  covers, articles, and  advertisements —as well as  album covers ,  book covers , and  video game packaging —produced from the early 1970s through the 1990s. Reg Mombassa:   born in New Zealand in 1951, immigrated to Australia with his family in 1969. Attended the National Art School, Sydney 1969-70. Returned to art school in 1975 and obtained his diploma of painting in 1977. Formed rock band Mental as Anything in 1976 with four other art students. They became a popular band and have released 11 albums and 27 singles, with 20 entering the top forty. They have toured in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, England, Europe, the United States and Asia.His first painting exhibition was held at Watters Gallery, Sydney in 1975. He has had one man shows at Watter’s in 1986, 91, 93, 95, 98, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007.
