I hope everyone has had or is still having a wonderful relaxing time . I know I have But my life doesn't really change from one day to the next. when you get older you get to be invisible. Leonora Carrington  established herself as both a key figure in the  Surrealist  movement and an artist of remarkable individuality. Her biography is colorful, including her romance with an older artist  Max Ernst , Who happens to be one of my favorite artist. An escape from the Nazis during World War II, mental illness, and expatriate life in Mexico.  In her art, her dreamlike, often highly detailed compositions of fantastical creatures in otherworldly settings are based on an intensely personal symbolism. The artist herself preferred not to explain this private visual language to others. However, themes of metamorphosis and magic, as well as frequent whimsy, have given her art an enduring appeal. Hello people,  I hope I dont bore you with my blogs, but as I am an Artist/ Photographer it is a good exercise for me to explore other artist, particularly female artist. It inspires me and gives me fresh ideas so that I can grow. It triggers my creative mind, provoking new ideas from an. image. Today we are looking at  a french artist -  Juliette Roche  (1884–1980)  a French painter and writer who associated with members of the  Cubist  and  Dada  movements. She was born in 1884 to a wealthy Parisian family. Her father,  Jules Roche , was a prominent member of both the French cabinet and avant-garde art world. Other strong connections to the art world were manifested in her relationships with her godmother,  Élisabeth, Countess Greffulhe , and her father's godson,  Jean Cocteau . Happy New Year everyone today I am starting with Tina Modotti  (August 16 (or 17) 1896 – January 5, 1942) was an  Italian   photographer ,  model ,  actress , and  revolutionary political activist  for the  Komintern . As I learned the art of Black and white photography I was drawn to her work . I believe that Modotti had the artist's  eye of seeing her subject and photographing it such a beautiful and creative manner. It is supposed that Modotti was introduced to photography as a young girl in Italy, where her uncle, Pietro Modotti, maintained a photography studio. While in Los Angeles, she met the photographer  Edward Weston  and his creative partner  Margrethe Mather . It was through her relationship with Edward Weston that Modotti developed as an important fine art photographer and documentarian. By 1921, Modotti was Weston's lover. Eva Hesse  (January 11, 1936 – May 29, 1970), was a Jewish German-born American sculptor, known for her pioneering work in materials such as  latex ,  fiberglass , and  plastics . She is one of the artists who ushered in the  postminimal  art movement in the 1960s When Hesse was two years old in December 1938, her parents, hoping to flee from  Nazi Germany , sent Hesse and her older sister, Helen Hesse Charash, to the Netherlands via  Kindertransport . [3]  After almost six months of separation, the reunited family moved to England and then, in 1939, emigrated to New York City, [4]  where they settled into  Manhattan 's  Washington Heights . [5] [6]  In 1944, Hesse's parents separated; her father remarried in 1945 and her mother committed suicide in 1946. [6]  In 1962, she met and married sculptor Tom Doyle; they divorced in 1966. Her name is Kathe Kollwitz (1867 – 1945) A German painter, print maker and sculptor, Kathe Kollwitz’ work focussed on the human condition, in particular the plight of the less fortunate; victims of poverty, hunger and ultimately, war. Her initial work was conceived in a Naturalistic style through the media of drawing, etching, lithography and the woodcut but her output gradually became more graphic and Expressionistic to more accurately reflect her subject matter. Kathe Kollwitz is recognised as one of the most important German artists of the 20 th  century, one who created timeless art works against a backdrop of personal sorrow and hardship. Brennan was born in  Ballarat  in 1960. She went on to complete a Fine Arts degree, in painting, at  Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology  in 1982 and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in philosophy, at the  University of Melbourne  in 1992. [1]  Best known for her high-keyed abstractions, Brennan displays a mastery of colour and spontaneity in her work that offers the viewer a range of ideas and emotions that seek a reaction. Today I thought I would get to know Pro Hart a little better than the carpet adds. Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart ,  MBE  (30 May 1928 – 28 March 2006), was an Australian artist, born in  Broken Hill, New South Wales , who was considered the father of the Australian  Outback  painting movement and his works are widely admired for capturing the true spirit of the outback. He grew up on his family's sheep farm in  Menindee, New South Wales  and was nicknamed "Professor" (hence "Pro") during his younger days, when he was known as an inventor. He collected vintage cars and motor cycles, and invented many kinds of engines and machines. He enjoyed pistol shooting, reading the Bible, and organ music.
